I made it to the top five candidates, and I was a perfect match for the job except for the fact that I didn't have specific director level experience. So I was impressed that they were willing to look past my lack of director level experience, and at least recognize that everything else I had been doing for the last 18 years was a perfect fit for the position that they were hiring for. Unfortunately after interviewing with both the hiring manager and one of his coworkers whom I would have been working with had they chosen me for the job… I never heard anything back from anyone after that so I just had to eventually assume they had given the job to someone else without any confirmation whatsoever. I was (and still am) very thankful that I had the opportunity to make it all the way through to one of the top five candidates for the interview, so I wasn't upset that I didn't hear back from anyone at all ... I just thought it was a little bit odd considering I had made it that far to not have anyone respond to any of my follow-up emails whatsoever. Other than the lack of response at the end of the interviewing process everything up to the point was extremely professional and very positive in general. So I assume that they just were really busy and they just didn't have time to respond back to any of my follow-up emails. So I would still be more than willing to consider an opportunity with Oracle in general (and even with that particular group) should such an opportunity ever come up again.
