Openly looked me in the eye and lied about their intention to offer me a position. Claimed to be willing to see how I got on for a month then offer an appraisal. Explicitly told me I would receive a phone call with an offer. It would be one thing to tell me to wait and see what happens but this hiring process is just cruel.
