J'ai passé un entretien chez Lifesight (Bengaluru)
Entretien
Applied through an offline hiring drive. The first round was an online technical assessment where candidates received a test link and completed the assessment on sight. The round mainly focused on technical based questions.

Initially there was an hacker rank test. Later there are two rounds of interview. First round was overview and second was specific questions on each big data technology. Bad thing about the second round is the interviewer is more focused on key terms rather than the actual concept in it. And the interviewers are not transparent. They accept the solution without raising any queries and reject in the end. Had they raised the queries i would have given the answer they expected. Also they asked me some specific question on spark dbms connection timeout. Even-though I mentioned i haven’t worked on this connection, he asks me if you know the feature spark provides in the connection. It felt as if both the interviewers went through a slide by title “spark internals” and were obsessed with it as they asked me if i know about spark internals and kept asking me specific key words that were used in that slide. Funny thing is the slide has “wide dependencies” and “narrow dependencies” in one of the slide and the interviewer tried to check if know these and asks me if i know “narrow rdd” and “wide rdd”. The interviewer seems amateur.
When i spoke to the hr, hr says you are not technically sound even though i answered almost all questions correctly. And the hr has a discussion with the interviewer and says the expected answers were different. And says we needed 100% score on hacker rank and i scored 80. Don’t feel the fundamental concept of hacker rank works in practice.
One good thing about hr is she tried to explain and offered to send me a detailed feedback on the questions, my answers and the expected answers by next day end. Sadly I didn’t receive any.
