By FAR the most intense thing I’ve ever been through. I applied and about a month later I had a general 15 minute phone interview where they asked questions like “What is your favorite movie?” and “Who would star in a movie about you?”. Then I had 48 hours to fill out and do several questionnaires, background checks, personality tests, etc. Then I had another phone interview where they asked more in depth questions about my skills, expectations, passions, ministry strategies, etc. Then I was flown to Oklahoma for a weekend interview event. We were able to attend a service, go to different campuses, meet leaders, and then the actual interviews began Monday. I’m not going to tell you all they do and ask because I don’t want to ruin the fun ;) but basically I slept 20 of the 24 hours the next day. It was crazy!

The overall process from sending the application to getting hired was close to 2 months. There were about 4 steps in all. There were phone calls and then testing and then a hiring event that started with a tour of the campus/central office followed by the actual interview event that was about 6 hours long. Throughout the entire process each person that I spoke with I could tell cared about me and wanted to see if I was the right fit for the position.

After submitting an application, I heard back about a month later a request for a short video to be submitted. Then multiple video interviews and phone calls took place before I was flown to Edmond OK. with my wife for an in-person interview. This process was high pressure and a full day of interviews. This was by far the most rigorous interview process I have ever taken part in and yet I have absolutely no complaints! I very much appreciate the intentionality with each interview.
