I had an interview at 7 PM. The interviewer didn't show up. I sent a mail asking for an alternate time since there was no prior communication for this.
The interviewer called at 7:25 saying he completely forgot there was an interview.
So then it started with basic intro and some basic product questions.
As I was answering, I could see his facial expressions changing, a weird smirk on his face. I wanted to give him a benefit of doubt since some people have such qualities. But the smirk only came when I was answering.
It could be a interview tactic to rattle the person interviewed but I didn't like it.
Then he gave a hypothetical question to understand how will I prioritize a decision but he was unable to explain it properly. It took me 4-5 attempts to actually understand what he was looking for.
There, I could've done better but I didn't.
Got an rejection the next day itself but looking at all this, I'm glad I didn't move forward.
I can give him a benefit of doubt to the person since he was quite young and it could be his first time interviewing someone.
But all this shows an attitude problem which on return throws light on the culture this company could have.
Atleast this review should make candidates think before applying to this organization.
