First step: scheduled a phone interview with the HR and one engineer. They are very interested in my skills. Second step: a take home coding challenge that about solving a real life problem. I cannot find a solution that passed all the test cases and there are some bad code smells on my code so they rejected me based on the coding solution. Overall the experience is positive but the coding challenge is pretty difficult. Need to design your application carefully or you code will be messed up.

      Entretien

After the first contact with their recruiter, they sent me a take home assignment which was very fun to do. Few days after I sent them my take-home-assignment solution they invited me for an on-site interview. All of the interviewers were were polite and nice. The first interview was not too hard but there were some red-flags that I'll get into. The second interview was also not very hard and it was about systems design. After, the on-site interview, few days have passed without any feedback. I asked for feedback, over email, and all I got was that they have moved forward with another candidate and they did not provide any feedback about their decision. So let me get back about the red flags that I noticed: 1. The interviewers were very unenthusiastic about the interview as if they didn't care much about the outcome of the interview. Maybe they had already hired someone or decided not to hire anyone at all and decided to proceed with the interview anyway. 2. No one took any notes. From my experience there is no way that they can remember all the important things about all the candidates that they've interviewed in order to make a good and unbiased decision. Perhaps, as I already mentioned, they already knew that the outcome of the interview is unimportant or they just lack structured hiring process. 3. Not providing any feedback about the outcome of the interview is extremely disrespectful. Especially because people dedicated valuable time for the take-home assignment and took time-off of work to come for an on-site interview. If interviewers took notes, and shared them with their recruiter, then the recruiter could've at least shared some of it with the candidates. Even though some of the people were nice, unfortunately, the overall interview was very unprofessional and unstructured.
