Aphone call with the head of engineering. An unpleasant man from Idaho who revels in the power he has. He joined a year ago and forced the team to switch from Ruby on Rails to NextJS. A completely incompetent leader who only wants “yes men” who won’t challenge him or make him feel dumb. Don’t waste your time with him or this company. They aren’t going anywhere unless it’s at your expense.

As most folks left reviews here, I just agree with them. Weird, cult alike, not professional. My experience: got asked to apply through their website, after applying on wellfound. OK. There was an ask for a video about yourself (ugh), OK, done too. After quite some time (I forgot about them), another email asked for a video to record on this question "What drives you to succeed or excel in your professional life that goes beyond awards or praise?". My first reaction: what the fudge? Where is live contact? And why still cultural fit style questions? I've read all these experiences and decided to stop over here. How long they are going to play ping pong with me on these stupid video recordings? Just don't waste your time. I'm sure working there would be a similar experience to the interview process.
