The initial communication was conducted by a HR rep who was friendly and provided all information that was requested. Unfortunately this HR rep was not present the day of the interview, and as a result I was a bit hesistant to release my employment application to the receptionist. Instead I waited for a HR rep that was assisting with my interview. This proved to be a useless strategy when I discovered that my application was shared by not only the hiring manager but all of the interviewers. This was a new experience for me as my personal information has never been distributed during the interview process. An applicant expects the hiring manager to have full disclosure, but not potential co-workers. Fortunately, I did not disclose my salary history, but unfortunately my social security number was displayed for all to view.
