Initially applied for another position and was invited to a phone interview with HR and hiring manager (after 1 month and a half). Then HR asked me if I would be interested in the position of Internal Auditor and I said yes. Things were not evolving fast at that time and I waited for another month before having another phone interview, this time with the head of internal audit team and a senior internal auditor. Questions were related to background, experience, motivation plus some technical questions about Audit. Received a positive feedback the day after tthen was invited to a personal interview at the HQ's in Berlin.
The personal interview was divided in 3 parts and lasted for about 3 hours. I was the only candidate:
- 1st part (between 30 and 40 minutes): interview with Managing Director and HR. General questions about my motivation, long term plans... and some general questions about microfinance. They were both friendly and MD was more in a listening mode.
- 2nd part: they gave me a business case (supply and demand process for a marketing department). I had 45 minutes to analyze than present the results (quick audit and recommendations) in front of the internal audit team and the HR, followed by a 1 hour Q&A session. Questions were not too tough, mostly different case scenarios to analyze and give recommendations for.
- 3rd part (30 or 45 min): more interpersonal questions related to my professional and academic experience, the job itself and questions about whether I am willing to work in some of their branches in Africa and CEA.
All in all they were friendly and the discussion rather casual. Received an offer within 3 days.
