The process started well. I chatted with their in-house recruiter, then had a Zoom interview with the recruiter alongside several developers. By all indications, the interview went extremely well, and they expressed interest on-the-spot in hiring me. Then, they asked for my salary requirements, and that's when their demeanor changed. I gave a number that was right in the market rate for the position and for my experience level ($150k). Evidently, it was much higher than what they're paying their current developers. After the interview concluded, they ghosted me; two attempts to follow up with the recruiter did not get a response. It all worked out, though, because I ended up accepting a position a few weeks later at a company that paid even more than what I was requesting from KT. On the plus side, the interview process was a breeze. There wasn't a typical technical interview where you're asked to solve puzzles involving algorithms and data structures.
