The hiring manager contacted me directly. It was an employee referral so there may be other steps.
I did a brief phone interview and then was setup for an interview in office.
Met the hiring manager and it was fairly informal but they asked all the relevant interview questions. Then met the GM who asked some pretty direct questions, not behavourial but probing. Definitely couldn't prep for it, had to be honest.
Then an interview with HR to do a personality test and then an offer.
Prep:
Honestly, it helps having a referral. Employees trust each other so a referral pushes you along a long way. There are the standard behavioural questions but I'd say, know what you want and why. They want to know why you want the job. They also have some great people so as long as you are willing and can show the ability to learn, they are willing to teach you.
Culture:
Tough culture but one where people with ambition can really excel. You work hard, but people seem to also play hard. German senior management who are very direct and no nonsense in their style. Refreshing if you are coming from a place mired in politics.
Office:
Open office concept unless you are senior management, so have to be cognizant of how you act. Their is a bit of a clique mentality but its really a business of who you know, internally.
People:
Some of the best people I've met anywhere. They care about the right things, and it's not always just about themselves.
