I was contacted by an internal recruiter via LinkedIn to interview for an opening on the Consumer Insights team. The posting said the role was hybrid, and although I made sure they knew I did not live in in commuting distance (and would not relocate), they proceeded with the interview process. I had 5 Zoom interviews over the course of 2 weeks with increasingly senior staff, and all the interviews were pretty low-key and casual chats. No project or assessments were included. After my 5th and supposedly “final” interview, I never heard from them again (it’s been 6 months by now). I later saw they filled the role with someone who lives closer to their corp office, so the entire exercise felt like a waste of time. Who ghosts a candidate after FIVE interviews????
