Prior to the initial interview I went through the reviews on Glassdoor and I saw a few red flags with company leadership and decision-making.
I had the initial interview with a member of their Dubai office. They were very engaging and enthusiastic about me potentially joining the company, until I enquired about some of the review feedback on high turnover and layoffs. This was very relevant as it involved international relocation for the position. The interviewer's demeanour completely changed and they went on a rant where they referred to people posting negative (and very valid) feedback on Glassdoor as 'bitter' and having poor performance. The call ended soon after.
I received a rejection email a few weeks later. No surprises here.

Question 1
It was a mostly pleasant chat about my experience and a bit of chit chat. The interviewer was not in my line of work, so it was more of a cultural fit type of screening.
