It was an unnecessarily long interview process for a startup.
1. Initial recruiter screening (fine)
2. 30 min call with the Hiring Manager (fine)
3. Take home assignment (reply to a client email) (fine)
4. Panel Interview round lasted 2.5 hours with 5 different people. (Bad)
The Panel Interview did not allow any breaks in between and it was a mental marathon. Each person in the panel asked at least 4 questions each, so I answered at least 20 questions in a row. It felt like an inefficient use of time because there could have been 2 Zooms with more people in it, instead of 5 separate Zooms.
In the end, it was a bad panel interview experience because there was not even a 5 minute break in between the meetings to get water or use the restroom. It was an inefficient use of time and a bit of a red flag for the startup department. I did not get the offer and when I requested feedback, no replies were given.
