Application and cover letter submitted online. After a few weeks I got an email from HR to book a time to interview that worked for me. The interview was online and took just over an hour and there were three interviewers: head of software development, team lead, scrum master. We started with a chat about my experience, and what the team is working on, then they did a small system design exercise (15-20 mins) without any visuals where we chatted about how to approach designing an app at jisc - this felt very collaborative with one of the interviewers acting as a colleague and happy to discus options. I was offered a role within a week.

Multiple choice exam, followed by a coding assignment and then two rounds of interviews. Coding assignment was unpaid and the interview was rather unpleasant and the questions asked weren't really related to the job I was applying for. They also never bothered to follow up.
