Applied online, recruiter got back to me within days to set up a phone interview. Chatted with a manager for about an hour. Was asked a few brainteasers, talked about what they were looking for and how my qualifications fit in. Even with the brainteasers, really laid back, conversational, and informative. Got an email from the recruiter the next day asking me to come in for an in-person the following week.
- 5/5; appreciated the communication and they hooked me in by speaking directly with a manager immediately. phone interview was different and interesting.
Met with a head recruiter, who asked me standard questions about work culture (tell me about your background. how do you handle deadlines? what do you currently do?) and discussed salary range and benefits. Really warm and friendly.
- 4/5; pretty straightforward but the same recruiter extended me the offer and was extremely receptive and helpful. really loved hearing about the flight benefits.
Sat down with the four managers (one pricing, three inventory) for 45-60 min each. They asked me a few culture fit questions to make you sell yourself (Where do you see yourself in five years? Why JetBlue?) and some brainteasers and basic algebra questions (How many cups of coffee do you think Starbucks sells in Manhattan per day? If it takes one person x hours to paint a wall and the other person y hours, how quickly can they finish if they work together?). I think the goal was to tease out my thought process and communication skills. They don't really care about you arriving at a right answer -- they just want to hear you talk out your thinking.
- 3.5/5; was interesting but kind of felt like they were trying too hard. also every manager had a different approach and I found two in particular to be a bit arrogant.
A manager gave me a voucher for lunch at the cafeteria downstairs. I ate alone, which was weird, but I also appreciated the sustenance and much-needed break between interviews. Lunch was also by the pound with options from in-house chefs and pretty tasty!
- 4/5; thanks for the free food, JetBlue!
Took a skills test with a few situational questions and basic math problems (industry formulas and calculator provided). I met with the last of four managers (met three earlier) and left for the day. Didn't meet any of the analysts, even informally, but they did bring me over to meet the director for a few minutes. He was really nice.
- 3.5/5; they allocated 60 minutes for the test. felt like it was excessive and should be shaved down to 45 minutes and keeping the RASM/ASM questions in tact but cutting half the situational short answers (you already asked me some of these in person!)
Was told I could expect an offer in 2-4 months
- 1/5; not cool. you held me captive for a full-day interview, dangled travel benefits in front of me, but there's no offer in sight?!) thanks for leaving a glimmer of hope, I guess
But they called within 3 weeks and extended an offer. Recruiter and manager both called me to personally congratulate me and discuss details about the position. They were really friendly and helpful with the onboarding process. Everyone genuinely seems to love working there.
- 4.5/5 moved really fast once they extended the official offer
"Compliance testing" (drug and alcohol) conducted after you accept.
- 1/5 why?
Orientation in Orlando was a great induction to company culture though. And now you get to stay at the Lodge.
- 5/5 for the juice
