It was relatively easy to set up a phone interview through e-mail. I am from a liberal arts college and based on past interview experiences at competing firms, they tend to be less technical and more about coursework. However, don't let that fool you, and continue to read career advice books. There's one by Wall Street Oasis on finance interviews. Preparation is key!

While the content remained standard for investment banking—focusing on typical technical and behavioural questions—the overall length was disappointing. I found the timeline unnecessarily long compared to other firms, which impacted my overall candidate experience.

Interviewed with SVP, 2 VPs, Associate, and analyst over 1 week and received offer within 3 weeks. Technical questions were industry specific and behavioral ones focused on capacity to work long hours and desire to work at Jefferies in the specific group.
