      Entretien

Ugh....I don's usually provide input, but feel that this is one time I need to provide input. Submitted my resume yesterday and immediately received a note requesting a pre-screen phone interview (which was very impressive). I was very much interested in hearing about the position in greater detail and know that Infosys has a great reputation. Today the recruiter called me (30 minutes late). Began asking me questions about my current role and why I was interested in the job. Without going into detail, the interviewer was very snarky, providing a level of criticism to my responses that is inappropriate for an interview of any sort. Example: I've indicated a desire to get back into a role, which I've been in before, where I can directly make an impact to the business and on a full time basis support Senior Managers (I currently work as a Consultant for small companies designing and developing compensation plans where the work is done remotely from another state and is not full-time). The response from the recruiter was "so you mean you don't make an impact with your current role" and "this role does not directly support Senior Managers"...responses from the recruiter done in a very confrontational way. Asked when I can begin working, I said "immediately". The response from the recruiter was "wouldn't you want to give your current job advance warning?" Again, done in a very confrontational way. Recruiters are typically the front line representatives for a company and should always put their best foot forward to attract top candidates for a job. In this case, the interview left a very bad first impression (but, I still know that Infosys is a great company). The title of the job posted was "Lead-HR". The recruiter indicated that the job "reports to a Lead", so there was some confusion from the beginning. Bottom line was that this was an Analyst level role and not a Lead role. The recruiter also admitted that she did not review my resume closely to see how many years of experience I had (which was odd). At the end, I've indicated that the role was not a good fit after all (looking for more responsibility and more interaction and providing support to Senior Management) and with that the pre-screen interview had ended there.
