I started with a video interview on an app on my iPhone. This was very interesting. It was the first time I had ever done anything like that. I, then, got called in for the In-Person interview. I interviewed with 5 different people, one by one, over a period of about 3 hours. Everyone was extremely passionate about Indigo. I really enjoyed the process!

      Entretien

The interview process for Indigo is very long and drawn out. I received an email at the beginning of May (or late April) to do a HireVue online interview. It’s uncomfortable and I’m not sure how you would gauge anyone’s talent from it. Weeks pass by and I have to follow up twice. Finally, they call me in for a face-to-face. They set the time and date and I agreed. Keep in mind, you have to take a whole day for an interview because they’re four hours long. I then receive another email rescheduling it and saying it will be a phone interview now. The time comes, I wait for the call and never receive one. By this point, I’ve had to follow up three or four times. I email the recruiter to follow up AGAIN and she says oh no, we want you to come in to interview! Pure chaos. I set the date and time to come in thinking this time will be it. Wrong. I get an email from another recruiter saying they need to reschedule. I ignored the email and went in on the date it was initially scheduled. At that point, I didn’t care. I go on the day of and they have the interview. The first guy mentioned the position is base+commission. He then asked if I had any questions and I said, “Oh, you mentioned there is a base plus commission, correct?” He said, “Uhh, yeah I guess I did mention that, but you really shouldn’t have asked about that; don’t ask the rest of the interviewers because they won’t like that.” ...what? As someone considering a new job, I shouldn’t ask about pay? Everyone else was nice. They all asked about pay and I had no idea what to say based off what he said to me. The last guy to interview me was totally off the rails. I think he was trying to go the completely opposite way of a traditional interview but it was insane. I was told by the sales manager and the recruiter that they would let me know either way if I got the job or not, probably within the next five days after the interview. Their specific wording, “We kept you in here interviewing for four hours, we have enough respect for you to let you know either way.” Well, it’s been over a month and I haven’t heard a word. I would assume I didn’t get the job and I’ve already accepted another position, which is why I feel comfortable posting this. I’ve worked in sales for years, lived across the country, have a graduate degree in business and I’ve never encountered an experience like this. I don’t believe it’s the interviewee’s place to follow up with a company five, six, seven times. Have more respect for people’s time. Don’t try to intimidate someone into not asking about pay.

Hi there and thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy the interview day and it seemed disorganized and there was a lot of back and forth. We have a very robust process and it seems we fell short that day when scheduling your interview. It is not our intention to waste anyone's time and we will be sure to review the process in more detail so there is no miscommunication. Thank you again for the feedback, we really appreciate it.

You start with a video interview of a few questions and then called in for a face to face. My face to face was really cool. I got to meet with the department head, some team leads and a couple of people doing the job. My favorite part was meeting the department head. She was honest and forthcoming about the role and the company. I loved that she told me up front how the interview would work and saved almost 10 minutes for me to ask questions. I really liked that approach. When I left I knew I WANTED that job!
