Thought they are professional … Turned out to be a waste of time! (If you are being interviewed, don't take any step or action until they send you an official offer letter) I applied for a senior video editor position and the process took over a month, first there was a phone call interview it was basically checking my background it was friendly and great actually ! Then a second phone call interview asking about my salary expectations and when i would be able to join if i got an offer A couple of days later I received an email telling me that i need to work on a project as an assessment, PS (no one gave me heads up about it even though i told them that I'm currently working a full-time job) but anyway i finished it on time and send it, and it also went great! i received an email asking me about my salary expectations AGAIN, we discussed it and both of us were on the same page, good, right ? Nope! Because from here, we started a back and forth emails asking me about documents and background checks… i sent them everything they asked for, and on time! Finally, after a full month of the process, i received a phone call that went very strange! They basically asked me whether anyone discussed with me the salary package.. And i said yes, we have already been aligned and agreed on it, suddenly they told me that the salary package is actually a bit lower than we discussed before .. I didn't even negotiate, i told them that i remember the email that was sent to me said that the budget is higher than this and that we both agreed. She told me (Okay, it's fine.. We will be preparing the offer letter for you and once we get approval we will send it) And that was a huge relief for me, I got accepted, and we are now pending the offer letter! A week passed, and no news! I sent them a follow-up email only to receive an email a couple of days later saying (We were impressed by your over all experience .. But decided not to move forward with you to the next stage) !! The question is.. Why would a company this big and active do that! If the rejection is about the salary … They could have negotiated with me, they didn't even bother answering my one and only question .. (Why?) It's so unprofessional to waste people's time, energy, and efforts only to ghost them later on The funny ending .. (They sent me a line in the last email saying we really wanted you to join the family, so please keep an eye on our career page and hope to join us in the future) .. Would I really apply ever again! I could have already sent my current employer a notice period, as the interviewer told me that everything is fine and will send the offer letter!
