I was initially contacted by the HR person who eventually conducted a phone screen. I explained about the LiDAR related project that I was working on for my PhD. The HR guy explained the role, the company and tried to find out how much of a fit I was. It didn't work out for me because they were looking for a person with more software knowledge than Systems. I wasn't disappointed either because my interest lies more in Computer Vision algorithms for LiDAR than general purpose software development cycle.
