I applied online and received a request for a phone interview right away. The phone interview went well and included pretty standard questions (Why do you want to work here? Can you explain X about your last position? etc.). I was then asked to do a work sample. I found the work sample to be quite fun and engaging. A week later I received a form letter telling me that they were impressed with my skills, but that they would be moving on to someone who is a better fit. My impression is that since this is a position that puts content directly onto their website, they are looking for someone with copy-editing skills. Even if you have good ideas and are very good at spotting small errors in logic or content, if you are not a master of the written word then you're probably going to be passed over after the work sample. I'm not very good at spelling and my grammar isn't the best. My writing skill is pretty average for my education level (having graded tons of college level essays from students at a high ranking university I feel pretty confident saying such). This is what I think probably cost me the position. Overall I think that the interview process is pretty good, considering the kind of person they are looking for. When they finally find that person anyway. The people that I interacted with were courteous and friendly. I had a positive experience despite not being hired.
