For me, this interview was unusual. The interviewer kept discussing topics unrelated to the interview itself. For instance, he mentioned that he could have refused to interview me because I am from Gaza, but he decided to give me a chance. I was surprised to hear that being from Gaza could be seen as a negative factor for employment.
Additionally, he spent much of the interview saying that he wasn’t sure how to fit me into his team because I don’t speak French, even though I had mentioned on the phone that I am currently learning it. Despite this, he insisted on proceeding with the interview.
Overall, the situation was unpleasant, and it became clear that I was not being considered for any position; it felt more like I was there to be given a speech rather than evaluated fairly.
