      Entretien

At first the communication with HR was great. Initial phone screening then a time to arrange for an interview on site. I told them I on the Wed I could interview that Friday which they weren’t too happy about. They said if I could come in any earlier to let them know. I explained to them I was in the city that week for training and it was impossible to get there beforehand. She later then emailed me with the details and location details, Did not advise parking would be difficult to get. I arrived 20 minutes early and could not find parking anywhere. They do have parking however no spaces reserved for visitors, I drove around and around trying to find street parking. It was time for the interview and I still couldn’t get a spot so I rang HR and said to her look is parking hard to get here if so I don’t think this will work for me ( my one thing in a job is I have to have parking) She ensured me that parking usually isn’t a problem ( which later I found to be untrue as the receptionist told me that parking is a nightmare) I eventually found a spot, but I was a bit stressed with me being late, so I didn’t think I did well at the interview. Both girls were really nice and asked the behavioural interview questions. They said that I would hear back from them early next week, if I was successful for another interview. I did advise them that I could interview on the Monday or the Friday as the other days I work and couldn’t get time off. Come Monday I get an email in the afternoon ( why didn’t they phone me) asking to come in on a Tuesday at 8 am, I said to them that I couldn’t do that as I had an appointment in the afternoon for my son who has autism so it was a specialist appointment I made 6 months ahead, so I had to start work at 8am that day. I asked for a Friday interview and they said no that’s the only time they had. I got told it was down to myself an another girl. I felt so much pressure that it was basically come in or that’s it, that I ended up having to do a “sickie” which I hate to do. It would have looked too suss if I said to my boss oh I have to come in late and leave early, and trying to say I had two appointments was too hard to lie. Met with the managing director who I would be reporting to, I went better in this interview however I just didn’t feel right about this guy if I would work well with him. It sounded like they were making two roles into one and for the money they were paying, it wasn’t worth it, Afterwards I got told I would hear back the next day. In the meantime I got offered another job and wasn’t too sure if I should take it. I did verbally accept the offer but was hanging off signing the contract till I heard back from this place ( I actually was hoping I wouldn’t so saying that speaks for itself). Come late Friday I get an email from them saying sorry for the delay but we were interviewing more people today. I was like what on earth you said no for me to interview on Friday but now you are interviewing more candidates, that’s fine but you pressured me in to come in on a Tuesday and I wasted a days sick leave on it. That was my decision not to go any further and I signed the contract for the other job offer, who were so flexible with interview times and worked around my working days, I thought I don’t want to work for a company that is giving me a vibe that they aren’t a flexible company to work for, sounded like is their way all the time. Having a child with autism I do need to work for a company that can be flexible. I emailed her back on the Monday to say I accepted another job offer. Don’t get me wrong the girl in HR was nice but they need to consider other people do have other jobs and it can be hard to take time off. I would never apply for a job there again. Put it down to experience and it was good to get an insight of what they do. So heads up if you interview at Rydalmere allow plenty of time to find parking :) One thing I have learnt going through this interview experience is not only is the company interviewing you, but you are also interviewing the company. I think that companies forget this. If it doesn’t feel right go with your gut instinct!
