Very easy going laid back and calm. Kind people everywhere from left to right and even when you would look up they were kind. So ten out of ten in my opinion.

Initial interview with recruiter - Writing exercise - Interview with the Executive Leadership Team- Interview with CEO and a walkthrough of the space. They were not transparent about the timing at all. It was all about their timeline and I was never asked about mine. They also told me that when I interviewed on a Friday before a long holiday weekend they would get back to me before the end of the day. They explicitly went out of their way to say that. There was no follow-up until the end of the day when the long weekend was over. There was no apology. After my final interview with the CEO, I was then sent a text on Sunday that was fairly ominous. There was nothing saying that they were really excited about my candidacy. They wanted to ask me follow-up questions. The final round with one of the members of the Executive Team who clearly has never ran an interview process before and / is unaware of best practice was extremely unpleasant and I felt it abusive. I was asked about the gaps in my resume. This is a question that shouldn't be asked anymore. It's archaic. Given the job market if feels like there is blame on the employee. A typo in my resume was also brought up. The scrutiny and concern over that was shocking given that I sent in a well-written exercise as well as several thank you notes. It gave me the impression that they were not a people-first environment. There was a lack of empathy for having to interview. I was treated like I did something wrong. They never said, it's as important for the candidate to feel comfortable and still remain interested. They didn't show any interest in the candidate's experience. I had given my all and I responded honestly about the gaps instead of shutting it down right then and there. To do that to a candidate at the end of the experience is not only rude, but it shows a lack of real trust right off the bat. I'm glad that they decided not to even bother with my references...asking me if I even had them?? It was so insulting and I know that I dodged a bullet given the poor ratings about the leadership team.

Average interview - asked about why I wanted to work with animals, my previous work history, etc. Everyone was friendly and nice - there weren't any weird or trick questions.
