J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Hulu (Seattle, WA) en sept. 2019

      Entretien

I had two in person informational interviews followed by a full day loop. The engineering managers asked me some basic tech questions (e.g. describe a technically complex project you worked on, describe a computer, what happens after you hit enter in the browser url bar?). The PMs asked me some high level system design and my opinions about the Hulu product. I found most of the interviewers to be respectful, professional, and fair. Some were tougher than others. Everyone seemed to genuinely love working there and most signs pointed to a really healthy and happy work culture. I did get the sense that they micromanage and that there is unnecessary friction between PM and TPM. The recruiter told me they wanted to downlevel me to entry level because of my "lack of enterprise experience." I have 6 years of experience at a top tech giant so naturally I pushed back. She also said they'd offer me roughly the same pay I was currently making. When I asked for a clear breakdown of the compensation the recruiter said -- and I quote -- she "wasn't going to bother putting together an offer if I wouldn't accept" to which I said I couldn't make a decision without clarity on the breakdown of compensation (e.g. how much is salary versus bonuses). If the salary had been equal or higher than my current salary and the rest bonuses I might have considered it even with the demotion. The recruiter didn't make any effort to sell me on the role and was so unwilling to be transparent about the compensation that I walked away. Clearly they weren't excited about me as a candidate. It felt like they lowballed me hoping I would just take it because they are Hulu.

      Entretien pour Technical Program Manager

      Aucune offre
      Expérience négative

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 jours. J'ai passé un entretien chez Hulu (Santa Monica, CA) en août 2016

      Entretien

Upon receipt of my online application, the recruiter responded with an email that "We really like your background and experience and would like to set up a time to chat over the phone with you further about your interests and the available opportunities at Hulu". I have replied with my availability along with answers to a technical questionnaire that was included in the invite to which I replied promptly and even provided detailed answers in an email (due to the limitation of space in the questionnaire form).. The recruiter called me on the date and time chosen and asked me about why I like to pursue that particular role. I have given my opinion but he said that role may not work for you. He also asked me if I was available for other roles that I have applied for which I said yes. He asked me to wait for couple of days to setup a phone interview with the hiring manager or the interviewer. After couple of days, I received the sweet automated rejection email "Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us. The team really appreciates your interest and consideration. At this time we will no longer be pursuing your candidacy for this role".
