My response was to immediately conduct a primary assessment of the patient’s vitals, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation. I would provide oxygen therapy if necessary, administer aspirin (160-325 mg) to reduce clotting risk, and consider administering nitroglycerin (if not contraindicated) to relieve the chest pain. Further, I would obtain a 12-lead ECG to assess for signs of acute coronary syndrome and initiate protocols for possible medevac if the patient's condition requires specialized care beyond my capacity onsite.
