J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 8 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Hexagon (Raleigh, NC) en sept. 2023

      Entretien

I was recommended to this company by one of Hexagon's clients who knew my background and thought I would be a great fit at the company. The initial conversation was with a recruiter for the company, very pleasant and he seemed very interested in learning my qualifications for the position (which I met perfectly). The second and Third interviews was with the hiring manager, who seemed nice enough until he called me "boss" on the third interview. Calling a candidate "boss" by someone who will be your boss is definitely a red flag, showing they have no interest in respecting the interview process. I was contacted by the recruiter for Hexagon who told me there would be a fourth interview (4 person panel) where I would present about a subject via PowerPoint slides. I was excited because I am a subject matter expert on Product Lifecycle Management and it seemed like the company was generally interested in hiring the right person for the job. When I found out what the subject matter for the presentation was, I was horrified by their lack of interest in learning how I would present to a client based on my knowledge of the industry and skills. They informed me that the subject was how to create a needs based sales program (basically asking how I would prospect), which based on the fact I had over 15 years experience in selling high valued software packages to C-Level executives was very insulting. This said to me they were really not serious in hiring a subject matter expert who had a fantastic track record of selling new (and fortune 500) companies, but rather they were more interested in getting free ideas on how to improve their business processes. I reluctantly put together a program knowing that it was a futile effort, but I still wanted to give it 100% as I always do. The result: the company ghosted me for two weeks! I finally contacted the recruiter by text and was told that I was out of the running for this particular job. I would recommend that unless you would like to waste 8 weeks of your life in an interview process, to avoid this company. they are a large company that says they are market leader, but it can't be true if they are not basing the interview process on finding the right candidate for the position. I read all of the reviews (mostly negative) on their interview process and thought it was mostly people that has sour grapes, but I found out they all must be true since it happened to me.

      Question 1

If you found out that your contact was not the right contact, how would you come up with a plan to find someone above them to contact without effecting your relationship with this person?
