I spoke with their recruiter first for approximately 30 minutes. He was basically asking me about my interest in the position, why I'm interested, and what I think I could add to the team. It was very pleasant and recruiter was easy to talk to. At end of conversation he indicated that I would hear back from him shortly and I should expect to move on to the next round of interviews.
A few days after my initial conversation with the recruiter, I was sent a file to test my excel skills and other skills relevant to the position being filled. The instructions were very detailed and they gave me 4 days to complete the tasks, which I felt was very generous. The timing coincided with the weekend so I didn't have to try and complete these tasks after an already long day at my job. That was really nice.
The next round of interviews was with the direct supervisor for the available position. He was very pleasant, and didn't ask strange or psychoanalytical questions, but rather questions relevant to the position. He discussed the skills evaluation that was administered It felt like I had a real conversation about strengths, desire to work for Catalyst, etc. After the conversation he indicated again that I should expect follow up for the final round of interviews.
The FINAL round of interviews was an office visit in which I met with the supervisor for the position as well as one other person on the finance team. Both were very pleasant, asked me about my skillset/desire to work for Catalyst again. They also outlined more about the company culture and values. Which I found very helpful. After about 45 minutes, we then did a deep dive into the skills evaluation, where they challenged my processes. I thought this was great because I was able to support, in real time, the assumptions I had made and learn from them along the way. They were not confrontational but wanted to understand why and how I came to certain conclusions. It ended up being about a 2 hour 'interview' and I was unable to meet with the CFO, so they said they would bring me back for another visit to meet with the CFO.
I came in about a week later to meet with CFO. He was awesome, very high energy, and very humble, but also clearly a very qualified and intelligent person. Met for about 30 minutes toward the end of the day.
