Not to the interview just yet, they required the applicant to submit a coding challenge before continuing. Though I have nothing against the coding challenge, it was quite fun, the flow and the process specifically in that, was okay. However, if they decided to put a coding challenge upfront before the rest of the process, I think the applicant should at least hear something back that's not an automated response. If they really think that the applicant's background looks interesting, why not have a chat and then get to know each other? By pointing out that there'll be no specific result or you can't enquire about the selection process, that really speaks a lot.

A casual HR interview is a strategic "vibe check" designed to screen for cultural alignment, basic qualifications, and logistical fit. While the tone is conversational and relaxed, the recruiter is actively evaluating your communication skills, professional reliability, and whether your salary expectations align with their budget.

Response time was pretty fast, got the first interview scheduled within two weeks.
First interview was online and mainly technical.
The second interview was on-site at the Shibuya office, more of a vibe-check interview. It was scheduled for an hour, but they cut it short at around the 30-minute mark.
It took around 5 more days to get to the phone call notifying I had passed.
Both interviews were conducted in Japanese.
