Odd. Before they will even review your resume you have to go to the office and take an eighth grade level test. If you pass, then they review your resume. If your resume passes muster, you are scheduled for a short phone interview. If you pass that you are invited in to interview with the CEO, COO and two others. If you pass that interview, which I didn't, then you are asked back to interview with those who report to the position. If you make it past that interview step, you then have to write and make a presentation. Lord only knows what happens then...
There is something wrong here. I applied for a Director of Marketing slot in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and only got to phone interview stage once, I believe because my resume was considered too senior. This time with the position elevated to VP, I thought I'd give it a shot one more time, but alas to no avail. During the 1:1 interviews I did get the impression that they had never filled the Director level slot in the course of the three previous years, and I truly believe they may never fill the position... Mr. or Ms. "right" likely doesn't exist in their minds.
