Multiple basic interview mostly on work experience. Seemed like a good team to work with but there were too many rounds of interviews than necessary, probably for a lack of better recruitment process. If you're on a fast track mode on your job hunt, this may not be dependable.

A very elaborative and time waste process and interviews for the candidates. Before and every sentence all the interviewers were trying to showcase themselves as a product company, but in reality HCL is just a body shopper outsourcing candidates to all other firms where they earn commission on each head count. Wierd behaviour by everyone of them. The first round started my resume got shortlisted from their panel. It was a telephonic round of 1.5 hours. After impressing this guy, in 2 days time, HR who was as quick as sloth (Sid in Ice age), called me and invited me for next face to face rounds. I got it scheduled for the very next day. There were around 3 very long (very very very long) rounds, each of 1.5 hours duration. All the interviewers were new to HCL. So had lot of confusions on the actual requirements and what to interview a senior candidate for Engineering Manager role. So they just started chit chatting on all personal stuff. To my astonishment few of these interviewers had thier own personal startups and were just working here for a fixed salary part. How is HCL tolerating this? Overall, a wierdo kind of interview process. Ofcourse, not all companies can organize quality interviews. And HCL is one among them.
