The interview process is not clear at all from the get go. Went into the first interview, very conversational, really let’s you highlight your CV and provide context in a casual setup- I was very happy with this one. At the end of this interview I was told “there is just one colleague I’d like you to meet”. Second interviewer was at some sort of barbecue gathering? Which, having worked at an American company before, I get it, you guys are very relaxed and casual………….or are you? Anyway, second interview also went well despite the gathering in the back being a little unexpected. Once again, I was told “there is just one more person I want you to meet”. The person I met this time would be the only other portuguese person on this very small team. This lady had no questions to ask me whatsoever, in fact, this was a very awkward meeting as much as I tried to make conversation. Mind you, coming into this interview and given the “let’s just meet one more person”, I wasnt even sure if I this was the last person I was meeting, what type of interview it would be or any of that. After we left the call I received no news for about a month- even though I chased multiple people via email. Finally, a month and a bit later I received a SMS text message saying I was not hired? I should’ve read more reviews here during this process. It seems this is not an unusual situation for the Portuguese HR. Very unfortunate.
