      Entretien

The interview process at ZenPayroll was not incredibly easy, but it was a really rewarding experience. I was referred to the role by a friend who was in contact with a few employees at ZenPayroll and after the first introduction, we had scheduled our first phone screen within a few hours. I was impressed immediately with how quickly everyone responded to interested candidates. From the phone screen through my final interview, it was incredibly apparent how seriously everyone took this process and it was such a reflection of company values that for them, hiring is expanding their family and is one of the most important things that they do. I felt like everyone I interviewed with was really interested in learning about me and what I could bring to the team, rather than just interviewing me because they had to. My interview went in three stages, I did an initial phone screen, came in for a quick chat with the hiring manager, and then had a full day interview with the team after that. For some, that might seem like a lot of time to be talking to the company, but I really appreciated how intentional it was and it did give me the opportunity to see how the office functioned and decide if this was somewhere I wanted to work. The take home assignment was difficult but it also gave me a lot of insight into what I would be doing in the role. Yes, I still had my own job at the time to manage and yes, it was a challenge to make sure that I made time to do my current work and put together something that reflected what I could do but it wasn't a turn off to me that I had to do it and it was nice to be able to show what I could do outside of just talking about it during interviews. The fact that multiple members of the team took hours out of their day to talk to me and did such thorough follow up after my interview process was over made me even more confident in the decision I made to join the team.

When looking at growing a specific program, what are three channels that you would prioritize? Put together a plan to go after those channels and also include the 3 channels you chose to de-prioritize.

Very organized. The recruiter, Camille Ong, was very on top of communications and making sure you were in the loop. Only had to come into the office once for one round of interviews with many people across the marketing team.

      Entretien

Gusto has the most organized and well run hiring process I've ever encountered. Before each round the recruiter called me to tell me about who I'd be meeting with, and the types of questions they'd ask. This demonstrated a level of preparation and consistency not commonly found at startups.

The interview process was extensive and thorough, but I felt comfortable the entire time, like I was speaking with real people about real goals and values. I was kept looped in on all stages of the process and felt as though there were clear expectations about my skill set and responsibilities. The recruiter did a great job preparing me for the in-person interviews, walking me through the schedule, and talking about the company. I felt awesome about the company throughout the whole process, even when I was challenged.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

I was asked a lot about how I aligned with the company's mission and values and whether I aligned with the heart of their business.
