J'ai postulé via la recommandation d'un employé. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Guardian Flight (Salt Lake City, UT) en mars 2022
Entretien
Basic HR zoom interview, then a Zoom interview with the chief pilot, then an interview in Salt Lake City. It was obvious that the chief pilot was out of his league, asking questions of a 40 year and 20,000 hour veteran Part 135 pilot that were honestly geared to trivia and not anything operationally useful. The “simulator” that they were so proud of for the “flight evaluation” is a glorified desktop PC with screens, legally a FTD (flight training device) and not a simulator. It was obvious that their training department needs a real step-up to either owning or leading time in a real Level D simulator. Position was offered, but after my observations on their leadership and training led me to review their safety record, which includes several (3 recent) mishaps obviously caused by pilot proficiency deficiency, I demurred and sought employment elsewhere. It’s obviously hard for them to attract talent, which isn’t surprising considering the low pay and austere working conditions. “Good Luck” to them.
Questions d'entretien [1]
Question 1
Silly trivia on approach plates that were an insult to my intelligence.
It was thorough and strong into regulations and IFR procedural knowledge. The interviewer was nice and welcoming. Plan the full 2.5 hours for the main interview via Teams. Also plan a possible sim evaluation.
