J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris plus de 2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien chez Grifols (Emeryville, CA) en sept. 2019

      Entretien

I had a phone interview with Grifols HR within 2 days of applying and then a subsequent phone interview with the hiring manager another 2 days after that. I was asked to come in for an in-person interview the following week. I was requested to make a training presentation for a panel of 4 people. I go in prepared for my interview and presentation and was notified that 2 of the people would not be able to make the interview. Which as a hiring manager myself, find absolutely rude to not be considerate of someone else's time. The panel now included the hiring manager, another employee of the same title I was applying for, a Sr. Manager, and Manager of Assay Development. I have been doing presentations of this nature for clients and new hires in my career of 4 years but this group was extremely disinterested in being there and had zero enthusiasm. As a interviewing team/hiring manger it is equally as important to make your interviewee feel like they should want to work for you. And sadly most employers forget that and think that the interviewee is doing them a favor - as was the case here. After the interview I sent a followup email to the hiring manager and thanked everyone for their time to which she never responded. I waited another week or so and reached out to the recruiter who went and talked to the hiring manger and it was this whole circular motion thing. 2 weeks after that they told me that they decided to go with someone else. No big deal. A few days later the recruiter calls me again and asks me if I was interested because the person they extended the offer to was no longer available (?) I said that I was still interested. The recruiter mentioned that the hiring manager would like to speak to me before coming in for the in for the in-person interview. She gave me some good feedback on my presentation and then told me that I was not enthusiastic enough and didn't engage the panel. Okay, no problem - I have thick skin I can take constructive criticism. This conversation happened on a Friday. They never got back to me as to when they want me to come in so I reached out on Monday. Still nothing. On Tuesday at 5PM someone reached out to me and asked me to come in the next day (Wednesday) at 11AM and to prepare a presentation. I said that that was not enough time for me to prepare a presentation. They offered to have me come in on Thursday same time but I had a personal doctors appointment that I had scheduled months in advance and couldn't make it. Long story short - my appointment fell through so I called them and told them I am available for Thursday. I go in to re-present (a new presentation) to the Director and VP. The Director did not acknowledge me, shake my hand or introduce herself as we rode in the elevator...I had no idea who she was until she came into the conference room and someone introduced her. The VP was probably the only person there with a spark of personality. The hiring manager and Sr. Manager from the first interview were also there. A month after the second interview they told me I did not get the job. This review isn't about an upset candidate not getting a job they wanted. It's about the people who are in charge that think they can push around interviewees and not have any value for their time. These guys wanted a stellar candidate with spectacular experience and someone who can engage a crowd. This position was a step down from my last role (manager) but it aligned so closely with what I did and what I was passionate about and I knew I would be good at it. Employers like Grifols need to stop having the expectation that people need to come to them and blow them away...as a company in the Bay Area it is also equally important that you also mesmerize your potential candidates because they play off your energy and enthusiasm...which in my case was very low. Its unfortunate that this will be my experience with this company. These people are the face of Grifols and everything that company stands for and it's sad to say that they did not leave a very good impression on a potential candidate.
