J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Greenhouse Software (New York, NY) en sept. 2019
Entretien
The interview process took ~1 month from start-to-finish. Greenhouse definitely takes Talent Acquisition seriously, as they should being a leader in the space, and is very thorough in assessing its candidates.
My interview process was comprised of:
- Phone screen with Recruiter
- 1:1 phone interview with hiring manager
- Writing exercise
- 4-hour onsite interview (w/ 5-6 individuals)
It was a pleasure getting to meet the Greenhouse team members. The energy in their New York HQ is palpable; for anyone interviewing, the dress does skew very casual, so I'd stray away from a suit as not to stick out like a sore thumb if interviewing.
After all the time invested, unfortunately, I was not chosen for the role. I was impressed that their Recruiting Manager took the time to schedule a quick call post-rejection to discuss the feedback. I am always eager to use constructive criticism to grow, so very much looked appreciated her making the time to share.
Look forward to seeing their company continue to scale.

Question 1
Have you ever had to share negative feedback with a manager?

My interview experience was underwhelming. As a senior, high performing candidate, I expected a more polished and engaging process, especially from a company in the hiring space.
The first stage with the recruiter, Melissa, felt flat. She stayed off camera during a virtual interview, the questions were generic, and there was little effort to sell either the role or the company.
The second stage with the hiring manager, Michael, was where I lost interest completely. Within the first minute, he said, “I am going to ask you some questions, and please answer them.” There was no introduction, no warmth, and no attempt to build rapport. The tone was cold and transactional.
Within a few minutes, I was already thinking about getting off the call, which is something I have never felt in my career. What stood out most was the disconnect between the seniority they claim to want and the way they interview candidates. The process felt generic and one sided, more suited to a junior screening than a senior level conversation.
