Entretien
I was emailed a lengthy performance task requiring me spend multiple hours editing a lesson plan. I completed the task promptly and was told that they would get back to me as soon as possible regarding my status in the selection process. Two and a half weeks later I hadn't heard anything, so I sent a follow up email. No response. After looking at the experiences of others, this seems to be a trend. I cannot fathom how unprofessional someone has to be to ghost candidates after asking them to spend hours on an interview task. Have the courage and professional courtesy to take thirty seconds to send a rejection email.
I had the same experience as many others. I spent three days editing two very long lessons and writing two new lessons. I have worked as a professional content editor for years and knew the work was good, but got the canned rejection letter that everyone is getting, that they found a qualified candidate. The job was listed on again right after I got the email that they hired another candidate....hmm. I've seen this job listed for almost a year, every time I search. Seems they are getting free work from people.

Entretien
This happened twice! The company asks candidates to perform an extended (2 days) task, very specific to the position under the excuse of evaluating your performance and giving you a preview of the job. They even give you a deadline! By all means, it is working for them, of course for free as they do not pay for your time. Then, the next day, they send you by email the meaningless "Due to the number of quality submissions, we have decided to pursue other candidates at this time." When you asks for specifics, nothing, silence, no details of any kind. This is how they get people to work for them for free.

Specific task, very long. They would use your tasks, not pay for it and not give you any feedback (proving they did not care for your performance, all they wanted was to get your work for free)
