Got contacted by a recruiter for an experienced 'Data Analyst' role in June 2016 for the Dallas Location. Had a good phone screen and Hiring Manager call. It was followed by an on-site interview with ~6 people from Network Engineering, Program Management and Data Analytics. Good and interesting interviews. This is where things start changing, The recruiter becomes unresponsive for 1-2 months after a 4-5 hours on site day. Finally receive recruiter email about some org restructure and change in budget and role expectations, and am asked to do phone interview with another set of folks at NY and other locations to ensure 'job fit' for the new evolved role. The interview scheduling takes a few weeks, and the interviews go well. These new interviewers were unaware of the role I was being considered for, or the process and what I should expect next. The recruiter confirms the decision would be available in 2 weeks after the interviews. I am explained the consensus meeting based on interview feedback in conducted biweekly and with a majority recommendation, a hiring decision and offer is made. 1 month passes by with no email responses from the recruiter. It is Dec 2016 now, I hear from the recruiter that I am getting hired, as the hiring committee has given a go ahead. Receive email about it, and am asked to fill out compensation history documents. The offer is supposed to be available by early next week. After following up with the recruiter for the whole of next week, I am informed via email that the SVP rejected the offer and changed the hiring decision to a 'no hire'. Reason given: lack of googliness! Go figure. BTW it was almost Christmas of 2016. 6 months of drama and massive disappointment.
