Entretien
I had a 30-minute Google Hangout interview for general questions. It was not a technical interview. The interview questions were clear and it was related to my research career. The interviewer was from HR department.
They contacted me. Everyone I talked was friendly.
There were inconsistencies between how recruiters described the role vs how hiring manager described the role vs what the final job description turned out to be. They also weren’t in agreement whether there is a product roadmap or it’s just open-ended research, which require different set of skills.
After several round of interviews involving a presentation and textbook like quizzes, I was confused why they even contacted me in the first place given my background and interest are not in SW development.
The process is very slow compared to most companies. If your dream is to work for DM, go for it. Otherwise, I don’t recommend the experience. It’s not clear where the company is heading.
