I was approached by a recruiter regarding an opening for the VP Marketing. Initially I met with a recruiter, then several rounds with executives and a final interview with the CEO. The interviews went well with him asking his basic questions about my background and approach to marketing the company, At the end of the interview, I asked if there was anything else in my background he wanted me to expand on. He said no, that he was happy with my response, and I should hear back within a week.
After that week, I sent a follow up email asking for an update on the role. No response. Over the next two weeks, I sent two additional emails asking for a status up. Still, no response.
It's now been three weeks and the company has obviously decided to ghost me. During the entire interview process everyone mentioned how important this role was and that I was a solid, if not leading candidate. To end up ghosted without the courtesy of a "thanks but we're going forward with someone else" response shows the complete and total lack of professionalism of this company and the CEO.
