Interviews: recruiting interview, hiring manager, peer interviews, at-home coding challenge (no time limit). Very clear expectations in terms of dress, process etc...Everyone on time and professional. They asked for feedback from me at every step. Salary calculator clearly showed what my offer would be, and I saw that during recruiting call. Very transparent - no games. Ultimately job description changed so I no longer qualified for the open role, but it was a very positive experience.

I didn't apply, but was reached out to from one of their talent recruiters.
I gave it a shot and was given an online assessment with some multiple choice Ruby questions, and a few questions writing about suggestions to improve their codebase from a quality perspective and any issues that I found.
I submitted a week later, then waited another two and a half weeks before getting positive feedback which led to a conversation with the recruiter.
We had our discussion, which seemed very positive only to find out a couple days later I would be given a rejection and no chance to even get officially into the interview loop.
The interview process had already taken one month before even starting the interview loop. They don't care about candidates' time or effort.
Take caution when applying here. Having read other reviews where their interview process took months and still being rejected in the end, if you have other offers pending, I wouldn't wait out on GitLab.
