J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Genomics (Londres, Angleterre) en déc. 2022
Entretien
I applied through a recruitment agency, the process took around 3weeks. This involved 3 stages, a 40 question test on aws/git/Terraform. Followed by a python/Terraform challenge to build a serverless solution in AWS using IAC. The final stage was a 1hr technical grilling call with 3 members of the Genomics team where you present your solution and answer their questions. After this they run through around 20 AWS questions. No interest or questions about your personality or previous experience. Little to no feedback was given post interview, just that they need someone with more aws experience (!?) . Unfortunately Genomics seem to focus heavily on certifications (of which I hold multiple) and unfortunately the final interview was more an exam than an interview. Genomics should focus on the candidates they are hiring especially given the amount of time it takes to get to this stage. More questions on a personal level and team fit would go a long way to building a successful team.

Question 1
A ton of AWS questions around all aspects of their service offering.
Good afternoon and thank you for your review. I am sorry that you had a poor experience. However, are you sure this was with Genomics plc? We dont tend to use agencies and we havent hired for a Platform Engineer recently. Our offices are also based in Cambridge and Oxford. Candidates do tend to get us mixed up with other companies with similar names. Many thanks, Ryan

I applied online in mid August 2025 and got a reply from the recruiter 2 months later to be told they have filled the role and asked if they could contact me if an opportunity comes up in the future. It felt really bizarre and off that they would contact a candidate after 2 months of no response or rejection.
