This company should be investigated against their discriminatory hiring practises. How is it right to hire only applicants who can speak Mandarin, despite the fact that they are located in Canada?! I believe this requirement is discriminatory and violates non-mandarin speaking candidates’ right under the Canadian Human Rights Act. Discrimination based on language or ethnicity is not fair, and it is not legal in Canada. As an applicant who is not fluent in mandarin, I feel that I was unfairly excluded from consideration for the position.
