      Entretien pour Client Experience Manager

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez General Datatech (Dulles, VA) en mars 2019

      Entretien

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GDT Manufacturing (Dulles, VA) in March 2019. I was initially contacted by a recruiter. I had a brief phone screen with her. After about a week I was told to expect a phone interview with the hiring manager. I was pretty transparent about wanting to know the speed of the hiring process in order to maximize my time. The recruiter claimed that they were looking to hire someone within two weeks. In a surprise twist, the hiring manager impressed with my background, wanted to skip the phone interview and go right to the face-to-face interview. In that same week, I was in the office on what was to be a 2.5 hour long interview. There were 3 interviews in that time span with 3 different people. One with the hiring manager, a systems engineer, and a team lead. They all claimed to be trying to rebuild a team that had lost most of its staff. The interview went extremely well and I got the nod of the Lead Systems Engineer right there on the spot. A few days go by and I get a call from the recruiter stating that there had been some "changes" to the team. As I would come to find out, the hiring manager suddenly "left the team" as she very corporately put it. That's corporate speak for someone quit. So naturally, I'm wondering where this leaves me and the time I spent on that 2.5 hour interview. As I would also come to find out, I would be back at Square 1. After a few follow-up attempts, the recruiter said that there would be a new hiring manager put in place. She explained that she would need to meet with him to find out how he was going to handle the recent interviews. It became increasingly clear that this new manager's priorities were not "rebuilding the team". I was told the position was "on hold" until further notice. After I just took 2.5 hours out of my day and took PTO to go on this interview, the position was just "on hold". I am currently employed. That seems to be an increasingly difficult concept for hiring managers and recruiters to process. It has been quite some time since I have had my time and efforts disrespected on this level. If GDT is this unprofessional and disrespectful of a candidates time, I can only imagine how they treat the people that actually work there. This is evident as the person that was going to hire me quit pretty much right after the interview. 5 years ago, I had a similar experience with Carpathia who GDT acquired. It would seem they inherited a lot of that company's chaos and dysfunction. Whether it's Carpathia or GDT, this company will not get a 3rd chance to waste my time. I've found this experience to be very disrespectful of candidates who take the time to prep, travel to, and take time off to go on these interviews. Totally unprofessional.
