      Entretien

I went through two rounds of interviews with this company, received consistently positive feedback throughout, and was ultimately extended an offer — which I accepted. What followed was one of the most professionally damaging experiences I've had in my career. After accepting the offer and reviewing the first draft of my contract, communication from HR slowed to a halt. I had to chase them for updates. One day before my agreed start date — with no warning, no prior indication of any issue — I was informed that the company could not proceed due to "internal contracting issues." No elaboration. No apology that reflected the gravity of the situation. Just a vague phrase and silence. What this company failed to consider: I had cancelled other interviews and stopped my job search entirely, because I believed I had already secured a position. My family had rearranged schedules and made plans around this role. I was ready to start. The damage caused by this last-minute reversal — professionally, financially, and personally — is not something a generic excuse makes good. What bothers me most is not that circumstances changed. Things happen in business. What is unacceptable is the complete absence of transparency, the failure to communicate proactively, and the disregard for the real-world impact on a candidate who had acted in good faith at every step. Candidates are not placeholders. When you extend an offer and someone accepts it, you owe them honesty and timely communication — especially when plans fall through. If you are considering interviewing here, go ahead — the interview process itself was well-run and the people I met were engaged and professional. But protect yourself: do not cancel other opportunities, do not make personal or financial commitments, and do not assume an accepted offer means the matter is settled until you have a signed contract and a confirmed start date.
