After applying online I was phoned up by a recruiter the following afternoon. After a short chat I was informed that prior to any actual interview would occurring, they require you to take a 50 question, timed test that is essentially a lightweight version of the SAT and a behavioral assessment. The recruiter told me to expect an email with a link to the assessments within the next hour and that it must be completed within 24 hours. Funny story, I did not receive anything until 48 hours later and only after I sent follow up emails to the recruiter requesting them. Upon completion of my assessments I checked my email and sure enough there was an email waiting for me. It was sent while I was taking the test and it was what appeared to be an automated rejection letter that said the following. "Thank you again for your application to Gather and for taking the time to complete our pre-employment assessment! After careful consideration, we've made the decision to not move forward at this time. For the Director of Demand Generation position, we have received a high number of applicants and our selection process has become highly competitive. Again, we sincerely appreciate your interest in joining our team and we wish you success in your job search!" What an absolute waste of everyone's time. I chose not to reach back out to Gather. If their candidate experience is this poor I can only imagine what working there must be like.
