First round was a usual HR screen with some behavioral questions. This was followed by a take-home technical assessment, which was a classic system design question. It was open-ended, without any strict format, they were interested in thought-process.
Got accepted, and proceeded to an interview with the hiring manager, where we discussed my take-home project, and some questions about my previous experiences and details from my resume.
I then was scheduled for the final technical round with the director of Engineering and a senior Engineer, both based in Manila. However, a couple of days before the scheduled interview, the recruiter informed me that they had decided to close the position and canceled the final round.
Although it was disappointing, I appreciate the recruiter’s clear and courteous communication throughout the process, especially when canceling the interview.. They didn’t ghost me and were clear about their decision, which I've found quite rare in similar situations.
I've had worse experiences, so I'd rate this one as a neutral overall.
