Applied for Health Care Project Specialist position and was contacted 1 week later to schedule a phone interview with an analyst.
The 1st phone interview was 45 minutes long, structured questions
-the analyst cannot answer any questions you have
-they can only repeat the question
-answer based on your best interpretation of the question
The questions were pretty straightforward - do you like to___, how would you rate yourself on being nice to others, competitive, convincing, honest, etc., how often do you get angry, can other people tell that you're angry, how do you react, etc. How do you feel about performance based pay, salary? which do you prefer, why?
The analyst was very nice, and at the end of the interview, informed me that somebody would contact me in 3-7 days. I was contacted about three hours later by someone from Gallup, informing me that i made it to the 2nd phone interview.
We had the 2nd phone interview a few days later - same analyst. Same type of questions, but longer (1 hour) and more "Why?"'s to further explain my answers. Some interesting questions were : how would you describe a good time? when was the last time you gave someone a gift, explain.
about 2 business days later, i received an email notifying me that they did not have a position open for me that would fully utilize my strengths.
The phone interview questions are very structured, and seems almost robotic - I would recommend using answers that can really make you stand out - think of why are you so passionate about this position, life experiences that really impacted you, etc. and try to incorporate those pieces into your answers to get past the phone interview level.
