Entretien
I was contacted over Linkedin by a recruiter asking if I'd like to set up a time to talk. When I responded with an affirmation and my email the same day, they ignored me for over a month. I eventually contacted the recruiter again about chatting because I saw one or two positions posted on linkedin more recently I felt qualified for. Without responding to my message, the recruiter just sent me a goodtime.io email to schedule a time, no message attached. My chat with the recruiter felt like the she was there specifically to act as a deterrent for their company, and that she had no interest in learning more about my experiences, despite the fact that she had originally reached out. Rather than asking me about my experiences, she told me off the bat that their software engineers prefer to not work with engineers with a biotech background (my background had a mix of biotech as well as other industries) as they aren't "real software engineers". She asked if I had any experience with writing software tests, and when I said "yes", she said "oh but this isn't a software test position; all our engineers write tests for their own code" without allowing me to elaborate on the contexts in which I had written software tests. The recruiter ended the interview by saying she would show my resume to the hiring manager, and get back to me on how that went. I have not heard from them since sending her my resume. I'm not sure I'd even care to follow up with that given how unpleasant the conversation and entire experience was. Given the other reviews on this page, either this recruiter is being very unpleasant to multiple people, or the recruitment culture at GRAIL seems particularly antagonistic.
